Things I like to Read! With Descriptions~

BOOKS

• 1. Jurassic Park & the Lost World-Michael Crichton

Sci-fi from 1990 & 1995; A cautionary story about genetic engineering and Dinosaurs-along with its sequel, which was the only sequel that he ever wrote. I know most people have watched the ovies, but the books have a lot of differences! Plus it's a very cool read if you keep up- to- date with current (2025) science, in which scientists are unfortunately genuinely trying to gentically make dinosaurs. SO far they've made a wooly mouse.

• 2. Annihilation-Jeff Vandermeer

A Sci-fi published in 2014, 4 women-an anthropologist,psychologist,surveyor, and a biologist-go on an expedition to Area X, which has been cut off from civilization for years after previous expeditions all mysteriously failed. This is written in a journal format from the POV of the biologist. It's a mix of sci-fi, dystopia, and suspence/horror.

• 3. Monster-A. Lee Martinez

Myhtical pest control. Monster is a pest control agent who captures typical pests alongside ones such as dragons, trolls, and other mystical creatures. He's an overworked employee with a girlfriend who is a literal demon. Judy is a night shift worker at a Local Food Mart, who lives blissfully unaware of the mystical, until one day she finds a Yeti in the ice cream isle! Her and Monster become unlikely allies in this fun adventure.

• 4. Helen & Troy's Epic Road Quest-A. Lee Martinez

Helen, a minotaur girl, and Troy, a human guy work at a fast food restaurant. One of thier coworkers tries to sacrifice them at the end of thier shift, it backfires, and instead these two end up issues a quest that will require these two to road trip across mystical America, encountering cyclops, orc assasains, and more. It's an urban fantasy/ comedy.

• 5. Age of Zeus (Pantheon #2)- James Lovegrove

Another urban fantasy! Part of The Pantheon Series, which is about various gods and histories, imagining if they were present in the modern world! The Olympians appeared a decade ago, living versions of the Ancient Greek gods, on a mission to bring permanent order and stability to the world. Resistance was futile, and humankind is under divine oppression. Former London police officer Sam is invited to join a small band of geurilla rebels armed with high-tech weapons and battlesuits-they call themselves the Titans.
